Why Face the Music?

Before tabling any major changes to the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement, the Government must gain the confidence and support of our friends and partners and Europe. But there are some quick wins we can get early on, and a better deal for touring musicians and other artists is one of them.
A reciprocal visa waiver agreement and removal of carnet requirements would not only help a sector that’s been particularly badly hit by Brexit barriers, but because everyone wins it’s likely to be quickly agreed to by EU leaders.
This agreement will then set a precedent for similar agreements in other sectors, for a youth mobility scheme, and for the restoration of Freedom of Movement (which most UK voters support).
When we leafleted for the Face the Music outside the Shelford Feast a couple of weeks ago we had an excellent response from attendees, and we expect that Folk Festival attendees will be even more supportive. We just need to make sure they know about the campaign.
So join us on Saturday 27th!
