About Eleanor Sharpston
Eleanor Sharpston KC has had a highly distinguished career at the Bar, specialising in European Union and ECHR Law. She served as Advocate General at the European Court of Justice from 2006 to 2020, and was joint head of Hailsham Chambers.
Her legal career has been accompanied by her academic career at UCL and the University of Cambridge. Eleanor is currently a Yorke Distinguished Visiting Fellow and Arthur Goodhart Visiting Professor in Legal Science (2023-2024) at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Law, and a fellow of King’s College.
