On 24 October the European Movement and Britain for Europe are holding a lobby of Parliament.
It’s time for us to take the message direct to MPs as they go about their work in Parliament with a lobby of Parliament and Conference on Tuesday 24 October.
A mass lobby of Parliament impacts forcefully on MPs. It shows them that their constituents feel so strongly about an issue that they are prepared to travel to London on a weekday to talk to them about it.
We need to show our MPs that there is widespread and deeply rooted support for the UK remaining within the EU as a country that champions peace, prosperity, human rights and protection of the environment.
There’s more information about the lobby and how to arrange a meeting with your MP ,and information on how to register for the lobby and conference (required!), at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/pro-eu-conference-tickets-38574745101
As coming to London for the day is a big commitment for many people, there will be a conference (10:30 am – 17:00 pm) alongside the lobby in a nearby venue, organised by Britain for Europe (which Cambridge Stays is affiliated with) and supported by the European Movement, Scientists for EU and Healthier in the EU. Speakers will include Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP, David Lammy MP, Polly Toynbee, Susie Courtault, Jules Cavalier, Mike Galsworthy, Ian Dunt, and Quentin Peel.
The lobby itself will be held in a room of the Palace of Westminster (from about 1 pm until about 5 pm, tbc), though some MPs may prefer to meet constituents in their own office.
