To celebrate Europe Day 2019 we organised a punt parade on the River Cam, where our skills on the water were put to the test as we demonstrated “Unity in Diversity” through close formation punting!
Thanks to everyone who joined us on the river, and those who supported us from the banks and bridges.
Here are some photos taken on the evening.
Europe Day held on 9 May every year celebrates peace and unity in Europe. It marks the anniversary of the historical ‘Schuman declaration’, when at a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman, the then French foreign minister, set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe’s nations unthinkable.
We believe this vision of a united, peaceful, free and democratic Europe is more important today than ever!
